You have the right to delete your Numo Eats account at any time. This page explains how to permanently delete your account, what data will be removed, and what happens after deletion. Please read this information carefully before proceeding, as account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your Numo Eats account directly from within the app by following these steps:

  1. Open the Numo Eats app on your mobile device
  2. Navigate to the Account tab at the bottom of the screen
  3. Tap on Edit Profile
  4. Scroll down to the bottom and tap the red Delete Account button
  5. Read the confirmation message carefully
  6. Confirm your decision when prompted (you'll be asked twice to ensure this is intentional)
  7. Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted immediately

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, you cannot recover your account or any associated data.

What Data is Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed from our systems:

  • Personal information: Name, email address, phone number
  • All saved delivery addresses
  • Complete order history and order details
  • Saved payment method information
  • Chat message history with delivery drivers
  • Account preferences and settings
  • All profile data and user-generated content

Data Retention Policy

While we delete most of your data immediately, limited anonymized data may be retained for legitimate business purposes:

Legal Compliance:

  • Financial transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by South African law and tax regulations
  • Records necessary for legal compliance under POPIA and other applicable laws

Fraud Prevention:

  • Anonymized indicators to prevent fraudulent account creation
  • Security-related logs (fully anonymized)

Business Analytics:

  • Aggregated, fully anonymized usage statistics for service improvement
  • No personally identifiable information is retained for analytics purposes

Important: Any retained data is fully anonymized and cannot be used to identify you personally or be linked back to your account.

After Account Deletion

What happens after you delete your account:

  • You will be immediately logged out of the app
  • You will no longer receive any notifications or emails from Numo Eats
  • You can sign up again in the future with the same email address if you wish to use Numo Eats again
  • Any pending orders should be completed before account deletion
